water dish

I found a really cute water dish that would look really nice in my snows viv, but its rather small...If I let her swim in a tub once in a while will it be okay? I don't need a big one during shedding 'cause I put in a moist hide...I know that its supposed to be big enough for her to soak in but....sigh. I need answers...FAST.

This is what I use and my snake LOVES it. $5 at any walmart, fill it halfway depending on how big your snake is

By the way, he swims around in it all the time and sheds perfect. But his size I let him swim in the tub twice a month.

Just keep in mind a snake will not drown itself

Not necessarily true. If a snake gets in a water dish and cannot get a grip on something it can drown accidentally. It happens mostly with babies though.

Well the bowl i want is about 2.5" Diameter X 1.5" H, and my snake is about 1' 3".

The smallest bowls I use are about 3" diameter and 2" deep, for hatchlings. Adult snakes are in large ceramic dog bowls. I predict your snake outgrows that water bowl rapidly...

Pictured is the small bowl, which is tall enough that the snake isn't pushing bedding into it all the time, with a too large snake in it. They _like_ to be able to get in their bowls!

The snake doesn't need to be able to get in the bowl. If you have a snake that likes to soak in their bowl then I would give them one big enough. But none of my corns like water and none of them have bowls they can swim in.

A large water bowl can be a lifesaver if you have a heating malfunction, too. It gives the snake a refuge that will hopefully keep it alive long enough for the human to discover and correct the situation.

I got a bowl today for 2.99 at Michaels, its white with a really pretty black swirls on it. I hope she loves it! :D
