Water temperature?

Two of my corns in particular like to guzzle a big drink right after I put them back in their vivs after they eat. I usually change their water while they're out and put cold in their bowls. Is guzzling cold water right after eating an okay thing for them? Or would it be better I put in luke warm? I could always put the cold in later after they do this. Hate for either of my little cuties to get a brain freeze or an upset belly ;)

I always wash with hot and rinse and fill with cold. I've never noticed a problem. Isn't water that hasn't been through the hot water heater supposed to be better for some reason I can't remember?

I'm picky about water, though. My animals only get well water, and if I travel with them, I either bring my own water or buy bottled water. I don't want them drinking chlorine or fluoride.

Water that has gone though the hot water heater usually has a higher mineral content from the buildup inside. If your house has a water softening system hot water will almost always be soft, as will most cold taps. The exception should be the cold tap in the kitchen.

If you are worried about the water being to cold fill a pitcher and set it on the counter a couple hrs before feeding time.

I have had corns on both well water and city water. So far now about 2 years for each and no known differences.

I wash with hot and fill with cool too. It just seemed to make sense to do it that way.

I have a neighbor who only uses filtered water for his geckos.

I really don't think it matters. Think about what you might find in pond water, and snakes certainly drink that stuff all of the time. Especially if that pond has any field runoff in it.

I just keep a water bottle under my tank stand and always keep it full, that way whenever the water bowl needs cleaning I always have fresh room temperature water to serve my snake.
