My mom teaches a small class of elementary school kids, and one of them brought this in to school. She said it had a greenish tint to the saddles, which you can see in one of the pics.

My guess is intermontana. They observed it for a day and then put him back. :)

Nice! I live in Colorado and I was unaware that we had wild corns here (*cough-newbie*). I dont really know what the range is of corns but that just made my day :)

Not really corns... emoryi rats and similar... I'm sure if the DoW got wind of any true cornsnakes being caught in Colorado, they'd ban keeping/selling of the species faster than you could say 'oops'. (Can you tell I've been talking to Sean?)

Yeah, well that's what makes him the Grand Bubble Burster!!!!! If he failed to find fault in anything, he'd just be Average Joe Bubble Burster :shrugs:
That's a great looking snake, Serp, thanks for sharing!

Certainly looks intermontana - high saddle count and coloration would be consistent. goerk - yes that is a variety of emoryi.

Great photos - really appreciate the belly shot - shows the emoryi tendency to have fewer continuous chains of black checkers that is one of the few consistent distinctionso between emoryi and corns that I have had pointed out to me. Thanks for sharing the pics,

mary v.
