Weird...?

So I'm pretty sure this isn't a bad thing but I must say its kind of weird. My 9ish month amel has a few inches of his body out of his hide and has his head raised about a inch or two up and isn't moving at all. Hes been doing this since I woke up and saw him, and now a hour later he's still doing it. Is there any reason why he's doing this or is he just chillin? It actually almost looks like he wants to have a photo shoot :) Have anyone else's snake do this?? I'm really just curious. Thanks for any replies.

So my snake is always "periscoping" then. He's never in his hide anymore (or atleast rarely) even after being fed and it is the weirdest thing ever! He's never ever acted like this until a couple of days ago. Does he just feel secure in his viv now to be out aaallllll the time?

It's pretty typical for males to be "out and about" this being the mating season and all, even ones as young as yours...now that you mention it some of my 08's that I produced have been out cruising as well...

Yesterday, I changed my snakes' viv from reptile bark to aspen and as soon as they went in, they moved over into their warm hide and lifted their heads and pretty much froze in that position for a good while. I found it cute.

yup it's normal. mine does it too, she likes to stick her head out and just watch me while I sit at the computer. It's quite cute. =)

I can attest to Kyle's 08s being out cruising! Longbottom(08 caramel from Kyle) NEVER hides right now! In fact he's pushed his warm hide out of the way and now will just lay out in the open on the warm side after feeding. All night long and pretty much all day he's out there cruising around and trying to find some way out. What did you feed these guys before selling?! ;)

The mice had a Viagra party before being consumed...lol

Well then I expect some pretty good results in a couple of years! LOL! Granger is even going through a hunger strike right now. He was taking fuzzies readily but now will only take a pinky every once in a while. He's too busy scoping everything out!
