Well, Hello.

I'm Jess. Properly known as blackcrystal22 on all forums.
I've been here and there, but mostly at b-p.net.

I thought I'd introduce myself. I currently have 3 corn snakes, 5 ball pythons, a Pastel Line BCI, and an Arnery KSB.

My corns include Crimson (unproven), Amelanistic Het Snow, and Snow (looks motley almost).

I have been working with snakes for about 5 years and am just now getting into breeding them. I've had lizards before that though. Heres a couple of pictures of my corns. Let me know if your interested in seeing my whole collection and I'll post it.

wow noice collection of corns. Great colors and they look really healthy. Welcome. I'd send you the care package, but i don't think you'll be needing it.

Aha, thank you for the consideration.
I know how it is though, as that's usually me sending out the 'how-tos' and that's usually me to make a mistake.

Like just the other day, I accidentally told someone that female corns get bigger than male corns. Then I realized I was in the 'ball/boa' mindset and was stupid.

Hey Jess! :wavey: Thanks for sharing your great photos! More please! ;)

As you wish.
Couple other pictures of my corns.

It always cracks me up how big those boas look in photos, and then to see just how tiny they are!

Those are great pics. How long have you been into snakes, Jess?

By the way, LOVE your red locks...wish that color came in a bottle!

yeah haha i was thinking the same thing. I thought it was a baby corn in the pic with her. But then i had to recheck myself. I would love to get a boa but they get too big for my taste.

Thank you, I appreciate it.
Actually, my hair color is only slightly red tinted naturally, but I've been dying it much redder than in that picture because it looks very good with my complexion. It's usually more of a dirty blonde color.
5 Years or so.. I don't exactly remember when I got Ayame (the crimson) but it was at least 5 years for me being into snakes. I've had some devastating things happen with corn snakes, but third time was the charm.
I've liked reptiles since I was 12 or so though. :]

I love my baby boa. That's the reason I got a male, and if it wasn't for his size, I know I would get many more! He should only get 7ft and be able to live in a cage like this:

Which will last him his whole life.
Hopefully someday, when I can afford more cages like that, I will get maybe a blood, a carpet, and a dumerils boa.
But that would be it for big snakes... I swear.

i don't have money like that just for a tank, wow. I'd rather have a super sweet setup and all the gadgets and toys for my snake, and setup the entire viv for the price of that one tank. lol 7 ft isn't that bad, i always thought all boas got over 7ft. or is that BP's and Red Tail Boas?

BCIs are Red-Tails, but the 'true' red-tails are BCCs. Most boa constrictors stay in the 6-7ft range for males and the 9-10ft range for females.
Ball pythons rarely exceed 4ft.

There's very other few options for him as an adult. If I put him in a tank that big, the humidity is nearly impossible and the temperatures a struggle. Not to mention it's very clumsy and hard to clean. A RB cage is nice to view and has everything I need as well as not difficult to keep proper ranges for him.

:]
