What am I? 3 Snakes

I've got 3 snakes that picked up kind of as "rescues" last night from a guy...here they are. I'm not sure what they are and was wondering if you could help.

This one I was told is an "Albino Stripe", but I'm not sure that's right...would the eyes look like this???

Here are the next two...I know they shouldn't be together, but that is how he always kept them since hatchling size and they seem fine together. I'm undecided on what I'm going to do with them (together or seperate). I have no idea what they are, are they just "normal"?

First of all- congrats on your rescues. They are beautiful corns!

I would agree with you on the morphs- amel stripe and 2 normals.

Several months ago I rescued a pair too. The previous owners had cohabbed them for 3 years. I have researched the pros and cons of cohabbing and have decided that it is not something I choose to do. The rescues I received were separated into their own tubs. There are many threads here on the forum where you could search for more information on cohabitation and make a decision on what would be best for you and your corns.

I found out late last month that one was indeed a male and the other a female. My two are very small for their age due to being fed on pinkies on an irregular basis for the first 3 years of their lives. There is a possibility that had I left them together, the male could have impregnated the female. She is not at a desirable or healthy weight to breed. There are too many risks for my female and I chose to make her a pet instead of a breeder.

This, of course, are the decisions I have made with my snakes. I wish you the best in finding out what you feel is best for you and your corns. :)

ssssinful summed it up.

though, do you think we could get a better pic of the striped snakes eyes? they look a little dark to me for an amel stripe, but it just could be the lighting

better pic of eye color

What color are the eyes on the stripe? It could be a normal stripe if the eyes arent ruby colored.

Looking at the eyes, I'd say either hypo or normal stripe. Could be just me, but I see black pupils and brown irises. :shrugs:

The other two look like normals, IMO.

yeah to me the pupils look very dark in the first 2 pics, but then look lighter and a bit more red in the last.

i think it's just the lighting making it hard to tell.

The stripes eyes are black pupil with amber/brown looking color around the pupil. I don't have any more pics of them right now but I'll try to get some later tonight when i get home. For the most part they are very docile and seem to be well fed. The folks knew what they were doing for the most part with them, but just wanted to get rid of them and had lost interest it seems a bit.

if the stripe has black pupils it is a normal stripe, not an amel stripe. nothing albino about that one :p but LOVELY striping, that's for sure!

Yeah I thought the eyes should be red if it was an albino of any sort right? It's cool though I've got two male stripes then.

Read up on cohabitation, please. You dont need your next thread to be "OMG, eggs!" or "Are these mites?", or "Why are all my corns dying?"

Be safe, separate them, quarantine them, and do some research. There are tons of threads here on CS.com and you always can ask and search the net.

Two striped males? I thought you only had these three corns and two ball pythons. Just asking, thought I may have missed something...lol. Did you have all three of the corns popped or probed to be 100% sure of the sexex/genders?

Best of Luck!
PJ

I have 6 total corn snakes:

1 - Female Caramel Motley
1 - Female Normal
2 - Male Normals
1 - Stripe Normal
1 - Motley Stripe
2 - Ball Pythons

Sexes have been confirmed. Also these two snakes have lived together for 2 years now...quarantine isn't necessary since they've been together anyway, right? I have all 3 of these seperate from my others, they have no mites by the way.

This would indicate not amel, but normal (maayyybeee hypo) striped corn. The other two are beautiful normals.

I saw this thread just after it was put up.... I refrained from an attempted answer because of the eye colour... LOL
I've learned to shut up about corn morphs.... LOL
Well spotted Rob

My guess is hypo stripe for the first one... but I am no expert by far.

Also these two snakes have lived together for 2 years now.

I am not going to tell you what to do, but if you do want to err on the side of caution, just know that despite their time together you wouldn't hurt their feelings at all by separating them. :)
