What does normal snake poop look like?

I feel dumb having to ask this, but what is the consistency supposed to look like? Is it supposed to be semi-solid? I sometimes see the stools come in little balls, and other times it's just a pile. Is variance in color pretty normal? Would smell be unusual?

I only ask because no book or care sheet seems to address the subject. I know how to look for certain parasites when I do smears and flotations, but checking snake stools is pretty new to me since they've got a different diet than my other herps.

oh my. well, yes, smell is quite normal, and it's quite possibly the most disgusting smell you'll ever experience. Consistency... well, it's all kind of liquidy looking, but usually there're dark spots in it that appear slightly more solid. Not sure what, exactly, the different parts are, but then again, I don't think I really want to know. As long as my snakies are healthy, I won't worry too much about their stools. :)

Oh, and don't ever feel stupid for asking a question. If you don't know, you should definitely ask. Better than jumping to the wrong conclusion. :)
