I have a hide box with paper towel bedding that make pair hangs out in. I opened it today and saw a yellow stain. Last time I saw a yellow stain, there was poop to go with it; this time there is none. I'm hoping they hooked up, but maybe one of them just urinated?
 
When it's fresh, it's a big yellow glob, like if you blew your nose. I've never let it sit, but it stains the paper yellow. I think if there were urates, though, you'd see them in conjunction with a poop. I've never seen just plain urates all alone. I'd believe the amount is small enough that it could get spread out by snakes crawling through it and dry up with jst a stain...
 
Once dried, it's yellow but a touch darker than when it was fresh and looks shiny, which is how I tell the difference between it and poop/urates.
