Ok, So I know apparently all corns in the entire world are acting weird around now, But this is a question about that...

So my girl has been eating like a champ and packing the food down, Shes actually using a lot of the energy provided from the food too.. But presiously she would go warm side and digest for at least a day. Now she isnt even doing that, and literally climbing around. Lately shes taken to trying to get out of her cage....like, which is impossible, but at least putting her head up to the lid. I am just worried she may be over exerting herself enough to cause a regurge what with all the climbing and stuff...? Isnt that a reason why we dont handle for a couple days? Shes been gaining weight steadily.... like... 5 grams per feeding almost, which seems a bit high, but after this feeding that just happen, I am sure she will push 200Grams at a few weeks over 1 year old. Should I up or lower her food? I thought maybe she is trying to escape constantly because the viv maybe too small, but people told me it was big enough... its a big rubbermaid... its clear though, and she always pushes against the sides as if trying to get out. :devil01: Thansk

Young snakes can be really active after feeding, and they digest very quickly if you have the food sized right. What is her weight and food item?

wellLast weight was 194grams.... Got her on weanlings I just weighed the last six in the bag, and they weighed 66 grams, so around 11 Grams each.... I was feeding 1 every 6-7 days...its only four feedings in to this size....before i think it was hoppers, they were slightly smaller... but i cant really go bigger, her head is still very small.

I'm tossing this suggestion out here, because it has happened here only a couple of times out of hundreds of young females...maybe give her a mossy lay box. Although it has rarely happened, it has happened- very young females have passed clutches of slugs. It is good they were slugs so could pass easily- if they had been fertile eggs the chances of them getting eggbound/unable to pass eggs would be , IMHO, very high.

So I would call 11 gram mice hoppers. Weanlings are in the 14-18, 19 gram range. She _might_ be hungry. Can you feel her belly- do you feel bumps? This certainly is the season for two year old females to start ovulating and possibly laying infertile eggs.

I did think I felt a few small pea size bumps...near the clocha, but I thought maybe I was imagining it. Can't check now. She knows not bother time after food.

She MIGHT be looking for an evolutionarally comfortable place to lay.
For many reasons of her own.
Is her water bowl large enough so she can easily coil up inside it?
Do you have an independent digital thermometer, the kind you point at any surface and it tells you the temperature for sure? (check if the thermostat on the UTH is broken =too hot?).
...troubleshooting...
without moss she would lay, anyways, eventually, but why not give her the option?
When was her last shed?

Sometimes you can feel balls of urates right before the cloaca. That seems more likely, if they are pea-sized. Make sure she is well-hydrated.

A nice comfy lay box filled with orchid moss would help with that, too.

DEFINITELY get her a lay box. Both my females laid slugs this year, and I lost one yesterday because I didn't know what was going on, and by the time I put the lay box in it had been 2 months since she had eaten and was really aggressive. It may have been a lost cause, but I hope that if your girl is gravid she has a place to lay the slugs and get back on track without any harm. Better safe than sorry.
