There was a python ban that was passed in Florida although it's currently being challenged by USARK. It is being reviewed since the data was not correctly obtained. It bans all of the large boids and pythons including burms, retics, anacondas, rock pythons etc. There is also talk of banning all imported and non-indigenous species of animal. This would include reptiles, amphibians, fish and birds. I doubt this will go thru as the economy would be adversely affected. There are literally millions of fish owners in the US that keep various species that are imported. Birds as well. Budgies are some of the most popular as are cockatoos and parrots. If you join USARK you will be kept abreast of the current bills being proposed and how to stop them. They are the only organization out there that is even pulling for the reptile community and has any pull in Washington. They have stopped many bills before the Florida python ban and they are still trying to stop that one. It is being looked at.
