What is she?

BezilsGirl

SandStone Corns
I think she's like a lavander or charcoal- by compairing pictures...but I could be wrong. What does everyone think she is? I can get more pictures in better light if I need to. I'm looking to hobby breed at some point, I'm curious- what do you think she would go well with? Thanks a bunch!

PS
ignore the substrate in I think 2 of the pictures, that's what the petstore advised and I bought into it... she's on aspen now. Ahh, young and naive.

(Charcoal would not have the yellow)
FYI, Charcoal does, can, and will have yellow.

In my limited experience the yellow does tend to be a canary, or softer pastel, yellow as opposed to the banana or mustard yellow you tend to see in Anery's.

FYI, the opposite is also true, you can come across Anery's that don't have yellow.

I stand corrected (spoke before really thinking, I guess
:eek1:). You are correct, some Charcoals can have some yellow (just as some Anerys can lack same).

My guess is that it is a Ghost but...

I'm going to say either a ghost or a phantom (hypo charcoal). If she has those pink/peach tones to her saddles that the photos hint at, I would go more towards the ghost (hypo anery) rather than the phantom.

can you post closer pics of the coloration
Gost would be also a good guess bt why not charcoal ?

To me, it just seems too light to be a Charcoal (though I know there are light Anerys, etc.) and, in the pics, it seems to have a pinkish/pastel cast, in some areas (i.e. saddles, body), which is something that is typical in Ghosts (I do not mean the pink, on its cheeks, as that can occur with Charcoals).

Although, I suppose that there is the possibility that it could be a Phantom (Charcoal + Hypo). However, I still have some lingering doubts, about that, too. :shrugs:

Ditto what Susan has said. The hint of pink in the saddles along with the saddle borders (and the yellow along the chin/neck) is what has me guessing Ghost.

I'll see if I can't get some closer pictures in better light tomorrow (or today for some of you). Her lighter coloring, mixed with the purple/pink shades that she has is what made me think lavender (I don't know alot about the specifics of what does qualify for each classification). She's just kinda purple in color to look at her. Not nearly as grey as I've seen in most of the ghost and charcoal pictures. She was my first corn, and I just got her from a local petstore that didn't know much about her, which is why I'm going for more expert opinions. Thanks!

I agree with what you said about ghost (i rather doubt i'd find something as rare as a lavender in my small town unless it was a fluke)- to clarify I just meant my uneducated guess was lavender (wishful thinking). Sorry about the double post.

Well, whatever she is, she certainly is STUNNING!!!

My little ghost boy also has "lavender" tinges to him! lol

My guess would be either Ghost or Phantom, she looks ALOT like my friend's phantom girl...lol She is a very beautiful specimen of either! lol
