hi i was just woundering when i need to be giving my snow corn 3 pikies but i am not how to tell if there still hungry can any one help??

hi are there any tricks in knowing when u should change ypur snakes diet (1 pinkie to 2 pinkies to 3 pinkes) ??

You can either go by the size of snake's girth to prey size, you want the feeding lump to be about 1 1/2 times the snake's widest area, or, see how long it takes to digest, if the feeding lump is gone after 1 day it's time to up the feeding size, or, get an accurate set of scales, weigh your snake and feed according to that. (Search for Munson plan).
Personally I wouldn't give pinks unless I was using them up, once 2 pinks is too small a meal I change to peach fuzzies.
If you search the FAQs and similar threads on here you'll find lots of information, and you might really need a book or two to help you learn. Kathy Love's is very good and you can order it from WHSmiths

ok thanks alot mate also he digest it in a day but he has a big lump so i don't want him to explode

If you weigh your snake once a month it's a good way to chart how it's growing, but as a rough guide hatchlings growing well should shed about every 4 weeks

And if the feeding lump is too big the snake won't explode but it may regugitate it's meal, which can cause problems

Also, bear in mind that the idea is to get your snake off of feeding pinks as soon as possible; pinks are the least "nutritionally dense" food item (compared to other sized rodents, that is), and generally speaking, it stands to reason that the larger the prey item (adult mice vs. hoppers, hoppers vs. fuzzies, etc...), the better the nutrition, and not simply because of size (mass), but also because of the breadth of minerals and micronutrients in older, larger prey items.

regards,
jazz
