Hey guys, I've had my corn for a bit more than a year and so far he's been a great feeder. One problem has come up though, and I'm not sure what it is... A few months ago for one feeding it took him a lot longer to digest than normal, like 5 or 6 days for the lump of the mouse to go away. At first I thought something serious was going on but then he went into blue right after this so I knew it was because he was started to shed, even though he had eaten in the middle of a shed frequently before. Since then I haven't fed him during a shed, but this week something similar has happened...
After last week's feed he had a lump longer than usual, about 4 days instead of 1 or 2. It's been a week and the lump is gone, but he isn't showing any signs of going into shed so I'm wondering why that happened? Why would, for no apparent reason, this feed take him longer to digest? The prey was no larger than normal, the heats were the same, nothing changed the previous week to that one... Why could this happen?

What are the temps in his viv? What's the weight of the snake and what are you feeding? I don't have any decent ideas yet, but these could help others try to figure it out...

Warm side temp is kept cycling between 85-87 and cool side is 72-75. Honestly I haven't weighed him in months but hes about a year and 2 months and eating a mouse about 22 grams. He's been eating mice at this size for at least a few feedings and I know he can handle them..

That's a pretty big meal for a yearling. My only corns that get a mouse that big are 300+ grams. As long as these bumps pass pretty quickly, I wouldn't worry about it just yet. If it becomes more frequent or one lasts longer, you should probably take him to the vet. It could be shedding related (like you mentioned), internal parasites or something else I'm not thinking of. Keep us updated!
