Amel's will have a natural variance from snake to snake. Here are a bunch of pictures of amel's so you can get a rough estimate of what it will look like as an adult (note that yours is normal pattern, not motley or stripe)

http://iansvivarium.com/morphguide/amelanistic/

the guy at the pet shop said when its adult it will be mostly bright orange and its markings a kinda brown.

now what i dont know and what he didnt know is what sex it was, i could never be 100% without traveling a fair distance to get him/her probled or poped but my gut feeling is its a girl, on a video it said something about htis tail being thick and short where as a female is longer and thin, i think that rubbish, i guess ill just have to stick with a he/she snake:laugh01:

As it's an Amel, it shouldn't get any brown on it. That would take black pigment, which Amels are lacking.

It could end up anywhere in a range of reds or oranges. You should see the colours intensify and change a lot in the first couple of years. Yellow is one of the pigments that an Amel has, and this mainly develops after hatching.

It's the opposite; generally males have a longer, more evenly-tapered tail than the females. Not 100% sexable by this tho..
You can pop the little one yourself. It's easy, and on young snakes, does no harm. Here's a link to Kathy Love's popping and probing videos: here
