Hello,
I am new to the snake world as I just aquired my first snake yesturday. I bought my snake at a pet store, and although I know she is a corn snake I wasnt sure what kind. Im sure she is just a run of the mill common corn snake, but if anyone can give me her accurate scientific name, that would be very appreciated!here we go.jpg

Thats an amelanistic motley corn snake (Pantherophis gutatta). Amelanism means genetically s/he cannot produce any melanin which is why the colours are orange and yellow and she had red eyes. Motley refers to her pattern in which her saddles are connected to form dots, and she will have a white belly I assume...

though with cornsnakes there is a debate about the scientific name. Some people say Pantherophis gutatta, and some say elaphe gutatta. It vary's from breeder to breeder.
