I would increase the temp... if you using the right equipment,

Corn are nuctural creature too.

Just handle the snake when you feel like seeing him.

If you get the book "The Art of Keeping Snakes" he recommends that by adding many hiding places and making the viv more naturalistic the more you will see the snake. I have to agree, my snake, Danzig has the most naturalistic looking viv and we see him more than any of our other snakes.

Also everyone's else advice was right too...just putting in my too cents.

plenty of great advice and if that doesn't work then try a cup of coffee with extra sugar:).

Get the warm side up to the mid-80s and see if that helps. Otherwise, sitting in the hide all days sounds about right for a Corn Snake.

Cole, I have a hide at each end. And a deli-cup as a moist hide about halfway. I am talking about my 09's. My 08's are setup similarly. The 08's track me all the time. Maybe they have figured out that I am the giant smelly food bringer. LOL.
But it has been my observation, and I have heard others say, that as a young snake becomes accustomed to it's viv, and learns that it is safe there (with your gentle help), it will over time feel more comfortable all over it's viv (kind of like the whole viv is a hide). And I have found this to be true. More so for some, and less so for others.
I also know when they are hungry. They come looking for me.
