I recently bought 2 baby corns from a friend of mine, the mum was a snow and the dad was bought as a baby as an anery but is clearly not as he has gotten older.I was wondering if i post a pic of dad and one of the babies if anyone could tell me what morph dad is and what morph the babies are likely to be.5 eggs were laid,2 anery babies and 3 of these little reddy colour ones.

Here's dad...

Dad looks like a carmael to me~~

now if dad is a caramel and he was bred with a snow and the results was

2 anery
3 reddies (these are normals from your second picture)

Then that would mean

caramel het anery x snow

if that is the case
then your anerys and normals are both het for amel and caramel.

just that your normals are het for one more thing...anery~

So it's

2 anery het caramel and amel
3 normal het caramel, amel and snow~

Hope this helped~

Dad doesn't look like a caramel to me. He looks like a normal. It may be the lighting in the pic. Can you get a better pic of Dad?

Only got the one pic of dad, will try to make it bigger. He is very brown in the 'flesh' not a spot of orange/normal on him.

Here is the picture "brightened up" a bit. He looks a little more like a caramel now, but I have also seen "yellow" normals. It comes down to the only way you may ever know is by doing breeding trials with your snake when he/she is old enough.

He could also be an emoryi/corn, many have that look to them. I guess the only way to know for sure would be to breed him with a Caramel.

Carol,

I was thinking that, too (especially since the snake seems to have a pretty high saddle count). Don't emoryi's typically have more, but smaller, saddles?

Typically they do. Of course just like corns, corn crosses can be very variable.

After re-reading the original post, and looking at the enhanced pics, the Dad may well be a caramel. As hatchlings, caramels look very much like anerys and could easily have been mistaken for one. Of course, the only way to be sure is through breeding trials.
