Ok, I really need help! today i decided to feed my tarantula and found she was VERY skinny. I though that maybe i was starving her but thats impossible since i feed her about 5 crickets a week. I realized a couple days ago that she was webbing a lot and that she made what looked like a sac, but i thought nothing of it and that it was normal. So i checked on her like 5 min ago to see if she ate the crickets but no, so i decided to investigate the sac and... THERES EGGS IN IT! I dont know what to do... I think i did something wrong like the temps were off or something in the husbandry but i dont know what it is! She was never housed with a male so i just dont know how she did this. I will attach photos as soon as i get on my computer... But please help me! I dont know what to do!

If she was never housed with a male, they are most likely infertile eggs. My female Miami corn this year passed 8 slugs, and she had never been with a male, so it is entirely possible that she was just passing them on because she had never been introduced, and they were in her system getting old. Maybe they were past their expiration date! lol. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about tarantulas to help out enough with this, but that's my best guess as far as what's going on. I'll leave you to the experts now.

What I'd do with spider eggs....

;) I am not a spider person, but I'd be inclined to agree with the above person. Maybe she produced eggs just because all conditions were right? I have two female cichlid fish that do this all the time. They are obviously infertile-- one plays the male, the other plays the female. My female leos lay eggs all the time as well.

How sure are you that she's never been with a male? I am wondering if spiders can save sperm?

I dont know... the eggs are very yellow. And im thinking about Toshiro's steve that layed fertile eggs a couple times... And she was never housed with a male as far as i know... Maybe she was once? Im not sure though... Ive only had her a couple of weeks.

Well... I guess the question now would be can you properly house and feed the loads of baby spiders that might be produced? And will you be able to sell them locally? If not it is probably best to flush these eggs before they become babies.

I want to make sure first that they are fertile... I will post photos asap... And if they are i will ask these 2 pet stores i go to and trust. If they say ok i will keep them until they hatch but i think that will be as far as i will go. I wouldnt mind keeping them until theyre bigger but i dont know. My mum said that shes ok with it....

If I had to guess I think the eggs look pretty healthy... I'm not really into spiders but those look nice and shiny... Maybe she had been kept with a male before you got her... I guess the question would be, do you want babies???

Ok I just read it takes between 4-20 weeks for them to build their egg sac depending on the type of tarantula...

I joined a Tarantula forum and I will see what they say.

I removed them.. I don't want her to eat them or to lay any more, if possible. If they are fertile I will keep them, and give them to the pet stores. If they are not, well, it's still cool.

Right now I'm worried about my T, though. She's so skinny... Is it ok if I give her crix every 4 days instead of once a week, for her to gain some weight?

Waldo, thank you so much! I cant reply to PMs on my phone, but yes, I do want to keep them. I counted about how many there are and theres like 50 or 60 in there... And lol Nanci i guess i might be a grandmother... So early.

I checked again and I have 100+ eggs... well, I'll see if I will be able to hatch them. If not, then that will be ok, if I do I will be busy for sure. I'll update this thread if anything happens to the eggs.
Thanks guys!

Is the sack in with mom still? If not then it will have to be constantly rotated by hand every hour or so. Its best to let mom have the sack, sew the hole shut so the eggs won't fall out, leave it alone and her alone. The absolute worse thing you can do at this stage is to stress mom out.

No, it's not with her. I was told that I would have to rotate to eggs, so I do that. 5-7 times daily, right? Or should it be more than that?
I don't want to keep the sac with mum the whole way through until they hatch. I can't risk having them escape...
