im wondering what everyone feeds there corn. live or frozen mice. and if live, how safe is it.

What about both? :shrugs: I can say that I feed both because I raise my own. Sometimes I feed f/t and sometimes I feed live depending on what I've got. Pinkies and fuzzies I will feed live, but after that, everything is either f/t or thumped so it doesn't hurt the snake. I've been bit by hoppers and it hurts, so I don't want a hopper biting my snake.

I feed f/t, i don't want to take the chance of my corns being biten by a live fuzzy/mouse...and its more easy for me to go to the pet shop and buy a bunch of Frozen pinkies/fuzzies and keep them in the freezer until needed...and im able to stock up, without having to worry about feeding and caring for live mice...

I couldn't vote either because I feed both. At the moment, all but one of my snakes is eating f/t. F/t is vastly cheaper, and healthier than the live ones at the pet store (I won't breed my own). In the old days, I fed hundreds of live adult mice to my corns without incident. Even now, when I have to use live, I let them kill it (supervised). In my opinion, the risk is very minimal.

I usually buy mice and stun them so they can't hurt my snakes my mom don't want a bunch of frozen mice in her freeze. :roflmao:
I'm trying to convince her if I can't i'll buy one of those mini freezers not like the frozen mice will come back to life. hehe

I feed both, but mostly live or pre-killed. I also raise my own.

My adults and juveniles are getting f/t right now, as I'm using up every pink and fuzzy before it has time to grow up. So my last order of f/t is coming in handy.

So it just depends on what the colonies in the garage feel free to produce that given week.

baby chicken fetus's i pick up at the pro-choice chicken abortion center...... wow i even offended myself their ....sort of

and yes i know chickens have eggs, but the eggs inside at some, point or possibly the whole time they are in there, im pretty sure whatever it is is called a fetus...... that is unless they are called embryo's....come on...someone clear this up for me..... good weed....wow

Always f/t for me. Couldn't bear to see a mouse being squeezed to death! (Mind you, if they get any ideas about coming in my house from outside then they get snapped.) :bang: Sorry, that's just the way it is. Not sure my girl would know what to do with a live mouse, she has never made any attempt at constricting when feeding.

Give that f/t mouse a tug or two and see what happens? ;)

All snakes possess the instinct to constrict...most just know their food is already dead and don't bother.

F/T... a) I'd never be able to feed a mouse I saw moving to my boys... mice are adorable hehe and b) Treasure is scared of live mice ROFL... he sees them and goes crazy trying to hide, its kinda cute. Hunter I'm sure would gobble them up mind you.. he "hunts" his F/T mice hehe.

I feed f/t only and I hope I never have to feed live. I don't want to see that. It's cruel. I don't care if that sounds hypocritical. I know some little ones might need a live pink when they're starting out, and refusing f/t. I'm sure I would get a hatchling a live pink if he needed it, but I wouldn't be happy about it.

I don't see what's cruel about it, but we don't have to agree on this. :)

I have never offered a live mouse. The closest I've fed to live is a mouse that's just had it's neck pulled (by me) and is still twitching and gets tossed in with the snake in the feeding tub. Other than in cases when I've been breeding my own, I prefer to buy my mice a few hundred at a time for economy and conveniences sake.
