i was wondering what would i get if i breed the following

ghost x Amelanistic ( candy cane, sunglow and normal albinos )
balck motley ( anerythristic A ) x albino
sunglow x candy cane
sunglow x normal albino
candy can normal albino

sorry for the newbie questions
tnx a lot

Ghost X amel (all varieties) = all normals het amel, anery and hypo
Anery X amel = all normals het amel and anery
Amel (all varieties) X amel (all varieties) = all amels

Mixing selectively bred varieties will only set you back on producing those varieties again. Please see my response in this thread:

Ghost X anery = all anery het hypo

I would highly suggest that you browse some morph galleries and genetics threads. Some excellent starts would be SerpenCo and South Mountain Reptiles. Just look at their corn lists to get some descriptions of the morphs and their genetic make-up. There are several excellent threads on genetics in this forum, including a FAQ thread. I know that genetics can be confusing to many people, but once you get the basics down, the results from simple pairings become almost second nature to figure out.

Sorry to add to these questions but

amel+blood
amel+snow
amel+Normal het Anery A, Hypo, Amel

???? lol I'm sorry I'm curious

what would this produce

anery motley x ghost
anery motley x amelinistic

will the motley pattern appear on the offsprings

tnx a lot.. just a newbie havent got a hang of genetics yet

Motley is recessive to "not Motley" so crossing a motley to a not-motley (who does not carry motley) will produce not-motleys who carry motley ("het motley").

Well, an Anery Motley is (homozygous anery, homozygous motley - assuming that the motley is a motley and not visual motley het stripe)
A Ghost is (homozygous anery, homozygous hypo).

Neither of those parents can give anything BUT "anery" to their offspring, so 100% of the babies will be Anery. The Anery Motley can't give anything BUT motley to its babies, so the babies will be het for motley - they'll carry it but not show it. The Ghost can't give anything BUT hypo to its babies, so the babies will be het for hypo. Therefore, you'd expect:

100% Anery het Motley, het Hypo

And your Anery Motley cross Amelanistic, if they have no other hets, will produce:

100% visual normal, het Amelanistic, het anerythristic, het motley (aka "het Snow Motley")

a color morph or pattern can only show if it is present in both the female and male.

Female: Amel Motley
Male: Amel
= amels het motley (motley not showing)

Female: Amel Motley
Male: Amel Motley
= all amel motleys

Female: Amel Motley
Male: Amel het motley
= all amels, some showing motley, some het for motley

tnx for the reply so if i breed

100% visual normal, het Amelanistic, het anerythristic x100% visual normal, het Amelanistic, het anerythristic

i can produce a snow motley...?

thanks for the answers

Only if both 100% visual normal het amel, het anery are ALSO het motley.

If you don't have that vital 'het motley' on both animals you won't get motley-patterned offspring.

Also, the chance of getting snow motley offspring from that cross is 1/64 - any given egg has only a one in 64 chance of having all three recessive traits.

If you wanted to produce Snow Motleys in the long run, you would be better off crossing, say, an Anery Motley to an Amel Motley. You'll get 100% motleys who are het for anery and amel. This makes the chance for snow motleys, if you breed the het babies to each other, more like 1/16 - each egg has a one in 16 chance of being Amel AND Anery at the same time, and all of them will be motley because they can't be anything else.

With the added side effect that most corn snakes who are not visual amelanistic are quite often het amel (because Amel has been bred to EVERYTHING at some point) and it's not unreasonable to think that many corns are out there who carry Anery. You could have Amel motleys, Anery Motleys or even Snow motleys popping up in your initial Anery Motley X Amel Motley clutch, but there's no guarantee of it!
