Ok, We have an '06 Normal male that we do not know what he is het for. I'm sure something is in there because the lady we bought him from also had a ghost (she called it a mocha) and what was listed as a creamcicle( but I actually think was an amel, because she has all corns and no hybrids). We would like to determine what he is het for. This is a list of the females we have.
: Anery
: Snow
:Amel

Which would you use to determine what he would be het for? I say the snow. Would be a way to start. Then breed two of the babies to confirm.
I honestly think we have a normal that is het for Anery, Hypo and Amel. Mo (his name) has a lot of orange in him.

If you breed him with the Snow and he is het for Anery you'll get

50% Normals het for Anery and Amel
50% Anery het for Amel

If you breed him to the Snow and he is het for Amel you'll get

50% Normals het for Anery and Amel
50% Amel het for Anery

So the Snow would prove out if he is het for either Amel or Snow

If he's het for both and you breed him to the Snow you would get

25% Normal het for Anery and Amel
25% Anery het for Amel
25% Amel het for Anery
25% Snow

Hope that helps,

Didn't mocha used to be the name for lavender? Wasn't that what Rich Z called them?

Yep. When Rich started the line, he named them mocha because of the looks of the BABIES. Someone ended up with his hets, passed them along, and then those eventual "Serpenco stock" animals produced them as a NEW mutation. Bad records meant they were believed to be a new mutation and not related to Rich's. Long story short, those "new ones" were called lavenders based on the ADULT appearance.

Lavenders sold better than Mochas (and described the adult coloration better), so Rich eventually started calling HIS Lavenders too after it was proved he was CORRECT (i.e., lavender and mocha was the same gene).

A creamsicle IS a hybrid, so yes, she has hybrids.

What I was getting at is she had baby corns that she had the names mixed up. The Mocha was definatly a ghost. I actually tried to talk my son into getting that one but he wanted Mo because he had alot or orange in him. The "Creamcicle" was sold so I didn't get to see it, but the mom is an Amel. So I figuring she got the name wrong in that case too.
