Hi all!

I was planning on trying to feed my new corn on either Wednesday or Thursday, maybe even later today as I have noticed her to be in somewhat of a patrolling mode. She has come out of hiding in her vines and has been drinking water and just patrolling the place with nonstop flickering of her tongue for the majority of the day.

I just wanted to know, around what time of day is best to feed them? Like are they more prone to eat in the late afternoon around 6pm or even as early as Noon? Would it be ok to feed them around Midnight or 1am? I ask because my work schedule tends to vary a bit. I'm mainly concerned about "Feeding Days" that fall on the days I work from 2:30pm-11:30pm or later, depending on workload:nope:, and will have to either feed around Noon before work or Midnight when I arrive home.

i can feed mine whenever i want i have 3 of them i actaully just got done feeding one like 5 min ago but i can anytime and theyll be fine with eating im not sure they like to get woke up but as seen as they see food theyre happy i woke them up.hahaha of course though that all snakes are different

Oh, I almost forgot to add, the temp in the tank ranges from 80-86.5 through out the day without the UTH turned on. Its been hot over here in Cali so I haven't wanted to turn it on in fear of getting her overheated since the entire tank already seems to be warm.

Will she be ok digesting her food with the current temp or should I still turn on the UTH?

Let it cruise around for a bit, gives them some exercise. I don't feed as soon as they start to look for food.
Also feeding later is natural for them as they tend to hide out during the day and hunt at dusk naturally. We always feed at night.

Like Mike, mine always get fed in the evenings. Those temps should be fine for digestion.

Thanx alot for your help! I'll attempt to take pictures of her first feeding, if she allows it, of course! Hopefully she'll take with no problems. :)

Because I have a hectic schedule, mine get fed whenever I've had the time... morning, afternoon, evening... yup even as late as midnight (of course, with six and only a couple of feeding tubs, it takes awhile. I really should get a few more, but it gives me time inbetween to handle them... so maybe I won't :)

I always feed in evening as well. Most will eat whenever, but I seem to have less uneaten rodents when I feed in the evening.

I would recommend against it. I've had more than one snake spooked by the action of taking a picture and then not eat for several days. Once she has settled in a little more, it is safer to photograph them feeding.

Usually it is not a problem, but it's better to make sure they feed before adding the stress of photographing them - especially with flash.
