What's the difference between cubed stripe and motley stripe ?

Hi everyone,

I Need a little help here.

I bred my male stripe with my female amel-stripe (which supposed to be cubed).
Approximately half of the hatchlings are stripes, but I'm not sure about the others. At first I thought they were cubed stripes, but considering the statistic, I'm wondering whether they are motley/stripes, and their mother is a motley/stripe-amel and not as I've been told.

here is A photo of the mother:

Here are some photos of the hatchlings:

tnx

I'm still waiting for the photo of mom to load...But before I see her- I'm saying stripe. Even though that last hatchling is very unusual for a stripe. Okay- mom is loaded now, and I still say stripe. I'm attaching a photo of Zora, who is a pinstripe motley. See how narrow her stripe is, compared to all of yours?? A "true" homo stripe will have a comparatively wide central stripe.

I could see moms cubes even in her adult pic. Shes amazing!

Motley/Stripe is when the snake has one motley allele and one stripe allele on the same locus. The genotype is het for motley AND stripe and the phenotype is usually an odd looking motley pattern because motley is dominant to stripe.

Stripe/Cube is a mutation of the stripe gene which occurs randomly. You can breed 2 perfect stripes and get cubed babies, and you can breed 2 cubes and get perfect babies. Its not predictable. And, of course, lets not forget sunspot, which is a mutation of cube. Fun stuff!

Your babies are cubed, and gorgeous ones at that!
