officially addicted
in an amel, reverse okeetee & creamsicle?

i've noticed that the creamsicles are more orange and white only, while the other two have yellows and reds mixed in....but i just can't really tell the difference. :shrugs:

pics are good also.

please and thank you for your help. :)

Creamsicles are a hybrid (cornsnake x emoryi)
Reverse Okeetees are a line bred Amel
Amel is the common term for a cornsnake lacking black pigment

First photo is of a Creamsicle
Second photo is of an Amel Stripe

As tracee said, a creamsicle is a hybrid amel between a corn and a great plains rat snake, and the others are all types of amels that are just selectively bred to have a certain appearance. Reverse Oketees are bred to have the thick white borders, candycanes are bred to have the whitest background color, etc. This just takes the animals with the most desired appearance and breeding them together. There is no guarantee however that you will get what you want because it is not a recessive trait. You can breed the best candycanes together and get a normal amel in the process.

thanks ya'll!!

i had an idea that the reverse okeetee was line bred because that's what a regular okeetee is, but i was just making sure. though i didn't know a creamsicle was a hybrid.

so thanks for the info and pictures!!!
