i have looked in lots of books and it tells me by the time there 30in but i would like to know what age is the best to be breeding at.

the rule for breeding is 3 feet, 3 years old, and 300 grams the last and first parts being the most important.

Standard guidelines for females are 3 feet long (36in), 3 years old, 300g weight.

With males, the most important thing is that they're about the same size as the female they'll be mating with.
