When should you separate a clutch?

Erika N.

Waiting in anticipation!
I've been reading everything I could on Corn Snakes for the last two months or so. From caring to breeding to the wild specimens. And yet, I still can not find an answer to my question. When should you separate a clutch of corn snake hatchlings? Is it after their first shed, before their first meal, and day after they have hatched?

To clarify, I am not a breeder nor am I attempting to breed. This question is asked more out of curiosity then anything.

Thanks for your time,
Erika

Do you separate them as they hatch? Or after they have all hatched out?
As each of them hatches, I put them into their own tub.

If I have a clump of eggs. then the ones nearer the heat mat at the bottom of the clump, can hatch several days earlier than the last ones at the top. I had one clutch that took 14 days from first to last egg. The first ones had shed and eaten before their younger siblings were ready to face the world!

or

Which do you fall under? Or do you have another method altogether?

Thanks for the input!

I don't want to bug them too much, so I usually wait until 4 or 5 are out. I'll get them situated in their own tubs and then wait for a few more to pip...
