Nearly any breeder on here is a nice safe bet.
Check the BOI first to make sure they have a good rep.

I have a snake JUST like the one in the picture....and believe me, they are much nicer in person!!

18 of my 33 corns I got from breeders on here. Most of the others I bred myself.
 
I would start by looking at breeders here. After all, you can talk to them on the forum before you buy. South Mountain Reptiles is a large corn snake breeder, owner is Don Soderberg. He doesn't post much at all, but breeds great looking snakes.
 
I see SunCoast Herps at shows all the time. They've always been helpful and friendly. There was a glut of butter stripes last year and they hit a low of about $90 for a hatchling. I don't know what they are running now. They _were_ about $300 before the price fell. I think the available hatchlings from last summer have all been absorbed- everyone who wanted one got one or two or more. I'd expect the price to be higher again, but not as high as $300.
