hi guys recently i ve started mouse racks..in my room..yes i know..! and from 5 to 10 to 15 now...it stinks!! i change bedding every 2 days just to keep smells off..and i ve found that there r little bugs biting me and made me itch..hope not fleas..so my question is where do u guys keep your racks in?? lets say if u kept in garage...wouldnt it be too hot in summer time and cook them? thanks

I'm going to be putting mine in a shed. It has a window that i'm going to be putting a small window fan in during the summer and maybe a small air conditioner depending on the temps. In the winter i'll have a heater.

Mine is in the livingroom. Those bugs biting you are MITES. You need to treat them or get rid of those mice and not get more. Those kinds of mites feed on rodents. There is a safe spray available at petsmart for like $12. Do not spray directly on the mice, scrub the tubs, spray then add bedding, spray the bedding then stir it around. Do this once a week for 4 weeks to be sure they are all gone. Also spray any carpet they have been near once a week for those 4 weeks. These kinds of mites should NOT bother your snakes. Different kind of mites.

Consider BHB Enterprise's' approach.

Obviously they have a large room dedicated to feeders with such a large operation underway there. However in one of their videos Brian makes mention of the room. Its not controlled at all! He estimates temps get as low as 50's in the winter and 80's in the summer. Notice I said he estimates, hes not even 100% sure.

You could expand on this idea, but it would appear that its not really necessary. An insulated garage would probably work just fine. If you wanted, a fan in the summer would not hurt.
