Who Rules This House?

Definitely the cat!

I was doing some work around the house and it got really hot so I was sitting in front on the fan. I got up for a minute and came back to this.

Since I was so rudely disturbing her, she turned her back on me.

One of my cats does something similar...anytime I get up from my computer chair he jumps right up there and lays down, and I always get a dirty look when I come back and want to sit in the chair again. I swear he sometimes sits near me just so he can be ready for the moment when I finally leave the chair...we jokingly call it "Elmer's computer chair" :)

This is exactly what my cat Nermal does. He has a very dominant personality, so I think he assumes that since my boyfriend and I occupy the computer chair so much it has to be a status symbol, and he has to make it his territory to compete with us.

I put another chair next to the computer for him to sit on for awhile, but he still prefers our chair even though they are the same kind.
