OOOOK.
So i know i've kinda been asking a lot of things but yeah..

ANYWAYS.

I got him like 2 days ago.
All he's been doing is hiding.
At first he was in the warm side but then I had to get in there and move the hide he was in because the uth got too hot, I left it on too high and i fell asleep so i had to check if it was like, burning hot or not.
:/ probably wasn't smart.

He's been in the cooler side now. hasn't really moved.
I'm kinda worried I scared him away and now he thinks he'll get eaten if he goes to that side again.
I dunno what to do because what if he gets too cold? Our ac is usually on 78-80. no colder than that... I dunno.
Maybe that's just right for him?
But I'm just worried. Because I'm a newb at this. So some of you are probably laughing at me or something. lol.
So yeah. And my mom thought it would be fine to take his hide off of him to show him to my dad while I was gone swimming.
So he's probably terrified.
And i have a 25 gallon tank for him. The breeder I got him from had him in a little muffin box that was super tiny, plus he was with his brothers and sisters lol. Oh and BTW he's about a month old.

OK SO I'M GONNA STOP RAMBLING.
So, is he gonna be okay? Is there anything I can do to help him get used to this new place?

Short and quick answer: Yes, he's gonna be fine. You can leave him alone to get used to this new place.

Rambling answer: It's totally and completely normal for him to just hide and sit in one spot all day. Partly because he's new and partly just because he's a snake and that's what they do. He is nocturnal, so he comes out to check things out while you're sleeping. I'm sure he's not totally traumatized by you moving stuff or your mom peeking at him. He can handle temps down to about 70, but as long as you've provided warm (80-85) and cool areas, he'll go where he needs to go.

The 25 gallon tank is going to feel huge to him, so just make sure you've given him lots of places to hide; at least one hiding spot on each side, plus fake leaves, branches for climbing, 2" of aspen on the bottom, etc. Hiding places don't have to be fancy and the smaller, the better. They like to squish themselves into small spaces to feel secure.

Now relax! :)

Some of my corns like to hide all the time, others are quite active except when they are in blue and getting ready to shed, I think they feel more vulnerable then. Don't worry your new baby will start exploring his new world soon :D

My Jungle doesn't hide at all. Prefers to perch on the edge of his water dish and usually ends up falling in lol. My 08 amel comes in an out of hiding throughout the day, my 09 amel mot comes out when she is hungry, as does my darkling (anery or ghost not sure). All of my '10 hatchlings hide all of the time. They are almost 2 weeks old. So it depends on the snake and their personality.

Ok thanks for your guys help.
He was actually out last night, but when he saw me he stared at me for a while and then hid.
Lol
I guess i'm just worried for nothing. xD

Yeah, your not alone everyone worries about their snake. But like Sweetseraph said, relax. Everything is gonna be ok.
But other than that, you are given the right info. :D

Whisper, my 2-year-old, has been living with me since April, and she still often does exactly that-- she'll stare for a few minutes and then hide as soon as we go into the bedroom. It's nothing to worry about. She liked it better in the studio-- she'd do her thing while I did mine-- but it got too hot here, and we only have a window a/c unit in the bedroom, so she has to hang out there for the moment. I guess she feels the quarters in there are too close. Anyway, they're all different. And he'll probably get less shy with time as well.
