Ok, I haven't had my cornsnake for too long, it's only been just over 3 weeks, but she was acting normal throughout that time. Ever since I cleaned her cage last week she hasn't pooped and she keeps hiding under everything. I believe cornsnakes like to hide, but mine will nudge her way under the reptile carpet and stay there all day everyday. To at least get her out of there I put in just a little material bookcover, it's like a loose pocket she can hide in. Would staying in small places like that be suffocating? I cleaned that cage very well and rinsed it well too, I made sure there wasn't any soap left so I don't think that's the problem. Plus it still smells just like the pet store I bought her in, so I figured she'd still be comfortable. I fed her on Wednesday, not long after the cage cleaning. That was over five days ago and she still hasn't pooped. Is this somehow normal, or is there something really wrong?
Help please!

This is the cornsnake, Taegan.

Taegan is gorgeous!

All of that is normal for a corn snake. Your snake is fine.

How often are you feeding Taegan?

First questions is......is she in a shedding cycle. If she is that could be the reason that she is hiding all the time. In the wild corn snakes will hid while in shed because it makes the more vulnerable then normal.

Beautiful snake though!

XD Oh good! She's only a year old and feeds on hoppers once a week. Her scales do look a little paler than usual, but that could just be me. I'm not sure when she's supposed to shed. How often are they supposed to poop?

All's well, she went... on my bed, but that's ok. Cleaned off easily enough, and now I know she's fine. :)

Your corn is gorgeous! Yeah, handling makes them poo..I learned that the hard way too. I'm glad everything is good now.

Cute snake :D

Her activity is completely normal. My corn loves his hidebox I made for him ( Cut off caprisun box for the win ). She's just adjusting and getting comfy with her surroundings :p

I think people assume snakes are like dog and cats and like to be out in the open, but that just is not the case. My snake hides all day and plays all night.

Sometimes when I change the bedding I find that my amel has pooped underneath the substrate. I think she likes keeping me on my toes.

haha lol i didn't know they did that. I will have to look cuz my classic hasn't pooped since i got her. but that's only been a few days.

Nice snake. With the pooing issue at least it's all ok now, I also had my eldest snake go on my bed a few days ago so I totally understand the feeling. My snake often doesn't eat properly until she fully excretes it all. I'm not sure if they also enjoy a little bit of a natural environment to go in, when the weathers nice I take my snakes outside and they like excreting out their. Just make sure that the snakes not too small when putting them out :p and keep your eyes peeled.
