so i came home from work tonight.. decided it was ok for me to get my new baby amel out, couldn't find him.. (note to self: use LESS substrate) so after pooring through the substrate for 5 mins i knew that he had already escaped

i did a 15 minute search of my room then i started walking my house, after a while i decided that it would take absolutely forever to search him out.. perhaps impossible.. he's so little.. anyways i decided to go set tape traps for him.. i was just getting my tape out when i looked over at my dresser and saw him peering out from behind it!..

i went over to try to grab him and he ran back behind the dresser. tilted the dresser to move it away from the wall a little bit so i could get at his hiding space.. little did i know that he had just run under where i set my dresser back down at, pinning him to the ground seeing this i immediately lifted it back up. he was pinned between some rather thick carpet with padding underneath it and the wooden dresser leg which was really more of a 3/4 inch thick piece of wood that ran along 3 of the 4 sides of the dresser holding it up

i am worried that setting this large very heavy dresser on him must of hurt!!!!!! i have no idea if he is seriously damaged. but when i set his cage back up, and set him in there. he immediately began trying to escape the enclosure again, he used alot of agility to stretch his body out straight vertical to reach the roof of my 20 gallon viv. this makes me think that he is probably ok, but does anyone else think that he probably is ok? or is he bleeding internally and going to die.

i am pretty sure the reason he escaped was that i forgot to place the books that i was using back on top of his lid last time..

either way i think i need to go out and find something with an actual "latch" on the lid. hopefully that will be more secure..

anyways pls reply soon

Shoot I wish I could help! I'm gonna take a wild one though & say he is gonna be fine. I haven't experienced anything like this, but have read how they can flatten their bodies to fit through things. So I am hoping the cushion from the carpet & you reacting swiftly helped your little guy out.

Hope he's alright. They are amazing little animals! :D

hmmmmm I am unsure also... guess you can watch for signs such as swelling, hard breathing, kinks, having a hard time useing parts of his body, not pooing like normal... stuff like that but I would take him in for maybe an X-ray if he starts acting the least bit different.... just never know with these little guys. Good luck and I hope he is ok.
