 i moved sphynx on to fuzzys last week and now hes so much more active. until this week id never seen him out and about. iv had him 4 months and this feels so good

When I moved my snake up to fuzzys i noticed the same thing! He was out and about a lot more, cruising round his Viv.
Apparently its because fuzzys are much more nutritious than pinkys are :)
He will probably have a growth spurt too for the same reason.... i couldn't believe how fast Smij started growing once he was moved up to fuzzys!

Fuzzies are much more nutritious then pinks. You will notice a more frequent shedding cycle, and a faster growing rate with fuzzies too.

Personally, I hate baby snakes. They are such a pain to feed, and tend to go off food easier. I have a harder time getting pinks out here than any other mouse size. So I finally have snakes that are yearling/adult size, and what do I do? Get another baby snake :bang:

what do you all think about moving a small corn up to fuzzies, but just cutting them into smaller pieces? That way they would get better nutrients, and still be able to swallow them? you think that would work?

I've had to cut up larger mice to feed my little deliah. We ran out of pinkies and our mice weren't breeding so we cut up a larger on and she's been fine. so long as you either do it from a fresh kill or when you thaw it make sure that oyu don't emerse it in water it's fine. I did it from frozen, then knife goes clean through and there's minimal mess. then I put it in a plastic baggie to thaw it in warm water then fed it.

sounds like a plan! Why can't you immerse them in water if they're cut? Is it just so that they don't fill with water, or is there another reason?

I'm pretty sure all the internal organs as well as the stomach contents would endup floating away in the water and you would be left with only the bone, skin and meat. the internal organs carry a lot of important nutrients. I'm not 100% sure if that would happen all the time, but I prefer not to try and find out.

Yes, it can create quite a mess when putting already cut mice into water to defrost. I bought some fluffies a while ago and 1 had half a fluffies attached to it. I couldn't get it off whilst it was frozen so I just stuck them both in the mug. The stomach and other bits were still attached but were floating around and all the blood and stuff came out.

I put both the full and half fluffie in Milenkos feeding tank but she wouldn't touch the half fluffie.
