Well,
I just went up to offer my very gravid female a jumbo rat pink to see if she would go ahead and eat even though she has refused food for the last 10 days. She shed 8 days ago and when I went in and lifted the moss up off her her at 9:20 I discovered a very busy mama laying eggs in the very bottom of her nest box. Between 4-6 so far with another close to her vent. I'll check her every hour and take/post pics when she is done.
My other female refused her rat pink this morning as well. This is a girl that never ever misses her groceries, even while in shed she will eat. I picked her up today and her lower half is h-e-a-v-y. She hasn't went blue eye yet but I think I might go ahead and put a nest box in with her just in case.

LOL, I thought this was something that a lot of people got to witness...no?
I couldn't resist, I went up to check on her again about 10:30, she is STILL laying but I had to snap a quick pic. The eggs look wonderful so far. She is laying them on the end farthest away from the heat source (I have a heat pad set on med. under her enclousure not right under the nest box). I put a humidity guage and a thermometer in with her. I'll peek again in an hour or two.

Congrats!!
She's a beauty, even with all that moss!
What a fortunate turn that you got to peek!

I want babies!!!

This is my most favorite thing about these snakes, thanks for sharing the pics, let us know when they hatch.

Hi Kavemank,
This was an awesome thing to be able to witness. I even caught her in the act of actually depositing an egg but I didn't have my camera with me for a pic (figures huh?). She is still in with her eggs this morning though she finished laying mid afternoon yesterday. I offered her some food last night but she wasn't ready for it. When I check on her now she just huffs and hisses at me and I have no idea how many she laid but I would assume somewhere around 20. The eggs are warm and moist so I'm not too worried about leaving them where they are at. Hopefully she will get enough energy to move out of the box so I can transfer her to a recovering/feeding cage today.
