Yet another rack question to add to the pile

ok, here is my dilemma. I need to build a rack system shortly for my bp's that I'm getting soon and my corns. Does anybody have any cheap designs of adult rack systems with hatchling slots as well? For the bp's I'm going to buy a couple 70 quart tubs but for the corns I don't know what size I want to use yet. Any suggestions? And for the flexwatt Heat tape.. I did a search and everything and I STILL dont understand! I think I want to use it directly under the tubs for each shelf but for each row of heat tape, does each shelf need to have a seperate thermostat? I have never seen any racks with tubs that big I want to use so anybody that has any pics please reply. And does "bean farm" sell Flexwatt to Canadians as well?

Thanks a bunch

Several of your questions are answered in this thread:

Rack systems

For the large tubs I would recommend using 11" tape. It can easily heat a 70 quart.

I personally prefer to run the tape vertically up the back vs. horizontally on the shelf. Constantly dragging the tub bottom over the tape tends to mess up the tape. Just a thought.

I run an entire rack on a single Helix thermostat unit. If you have a tall rack (floor to ceiling) temps tend to have a higher variance. This could require subdividing the rack in to smaller temp zones and implementing additional control with rheostats.

Thanks Cav!

I Found that thread shortly after I posted this and found it quite helpful! The problem is Canada doesn't readily carry Flexwatt and I'm not all too keen on paying 200+ u.s. to get some. So I was thinking more on the lines of heat cord/rope (any advice on that way of heating?) I am planning on keeping more then just corns in that rack as well. The species I am most interested in require temps around the same so it should be fine. Oh, just by coincidence I was looking under my bed and I found 4 Rubbermaid 2119-87 models! Any one ever use that size? I'm thinking it would be fine for my corns but any input on that size would be appreciated!
Thanks a bunch and HaPpY HoLiDaYs!!
