I have a 75 watt black light on my tank in the day time which makes the 20 long 88 degrees closer to 90 and at night i get 78 when i turn the light off is this ok are any of the temps to high to low?

Too hot. You need a cool side and a hot side. The cool side should be in the low to mid seventies, and the hot side should be in the low to mid eighties. Achieve this by only heating one side of the tank, preferably with an under-tank heater (UTH) under a third of the bottom of the hot side.

You can use the search function of this forum to learn everything you'll ever need to know about UTHs, lamps, and achieving ideal temps and humidity. Good luck.
