Gig 'Em Ags!! Whoop!!
So I liked the cheezy title... big deal.

In all seriousness though. I have some time the week and I'm trying to decide between doing two things for the forum/my blog. Only problem is that they both sound fun to me and I just can't decide on which one to do, so I need ya'll to help! I get off work today (10/05) at 5:00 p.m. and I'll be checking the poll to see what you decided then.

Here are the two options and a description of each one.

1. Go Field Herping every night this week. I'd video and photograph the whole thing and post some pretty sweet stuff throughout the week (hopefully). Flipping and road cruising would make up the majority of the herping.

2. Create a snake photography tutorial. I have a few new snakes (surprises ;)) that I need to photograph and basically my entire collection needs to be updated for my own records and for my website. So, I'd actually video and edit the whole thing into a sort of at home snake photography tutorial. Complete with stage set-up, lighting set-up, camera settings, lens choices and why, RAW files, and I might even go as far as recording my on-screen video for Lightroom and Photoshop editing. So basically you get everything in my photography workflow from start to finished product. (not saying that I'm great or that its the "right" way to do it, but I've yet to see one of these for herp photography so it'd be something new)

Both should be fun and take some time. I'm just wondering which one ya'll would be more interested in seeing overall. I honestly think Katie should do the second one ;)

Anyways, let me know what ya'll think!

I know I take crappy pics... so some information on how to take better ones would help me out. LOL. I don't have an uber nice camera either (Sony Cyber-shot), but anything would help! :)

Ohhh... only if YOU have fun doing it too! :)

If it involves snakes, cameras, and creativity I'm gonna enjoy it ;) Any combination of those is always going to rank higher than studying statistical thermodynamics and molecular heat transfer in my book lol!

Hey, if you have a week off, I need someone to trench out around my snake building, and then put together 12-14 bookshelves. I didn't see that option on your list! Why wasn't it there?

i put field herp. but also like the photo technique one. can you mix it? i would love to see how to take better pics in general. and also how to take good ones in the field. have fun is the most important part.

Payton,

Also missing from your list, was come to my house, clean my house, mow the grass, and start building a fence. I will pay $15 snake credit/hour of work and $5 snake credit/drive time. Then you can pick the animal(s) you want, instead of getting 20 normal males het for snow from KJ.

I thought you were going to say that he could then come to MY house to get the snakes he wanted for doing your work....lol.

You are slacking there, Mikey.

So it's lookin' like the Photography tutorial so far (I might even try to throw or add some quick segments about photographing field herps and hots in the field if I can get a chance/it dries up this week/I can get Sam (gf) to shoot video for me in the field) but here's what I'm seeing with a few hours left to go -

Tutorial: 14 votes
Field Herpin: 7 votes
Trench KJ's snake house (and steal his snakes): 1 vote
Clean Mike's house (and steal his snakes): 1 vote

Keep it comin' and don't forget to add any comments on any thoughts you have towards what you're wanting to see! I'm doing this for my own entertainment but ultimately I'm trying to do this for the forum and herping community :)

Skippy, once your done cleaning and mowing, you could take pictures of my collection before you steal them. :nyah:

I'll just bring the polaroid and take a shot of me with each snake and leave it in their tub before bagging it and throwing it in my car. Then you'll at least have a pretty little reminder of what they looked like and who has them now :grin01:

Gonna keep the poll going through tonight just for good measure, lookin' like I'm gonna try and make the herp photography vid though :) I'll try and add some field herping photography in there while I'm at it
