Well you guys were right I had to get another snake just picked up this little lady at another pet store, about 14inches of lovelyness I have a suspicion that she...

1)may be a 'she' as the lady at the store knew alot more about her background

2) may be an abbots okeetee but I could be completely wrong as I have only been doing the snake thing for three months or so

Here she is what do you think?

Shes a nice normal :) I would be utterly shocked if an okeetee, never mind an abbotts was for sale in a UK pet shop :p

ahh so I missed something then I was just comparing her to other pictures of snakes and shes seemed most like an okeetee

 I told you I was new to this, but looking again I have started seeing small differences and can see now she does look more like the normal (not so dark etc) . . . . .but anyway theres nothing normal about her I think she's stunning and decided to call her Terra (as in terracota due to the richness of the color on her back).
I hereby stand for the abolition of the word 'normal' when describing corn snakes.
Corn snakes are all individual's too

Okeetees are locality corn snakes which have been line bred to have the most vibrant oranges and thick black borders. Abbott's are just even better Okeetees :p Specifically line bred for thicker black borders.

You can abolish the word all you want, you still have a normal phase corn snake. Of course shes the dog bollocks to yourself, but you can't abolish the official morph name :p

You could always just call her a Carolina, I hear thats popular in England to tart up normals.

I agree.. I also purchased a beautiful "normal" girl. I will now refer to her as a classic corn. Nothing normal about them, as they are the ancestors to all those "fancy" morphs out there. So there is nothing normal about a "normal".

They are still normal corns no matter what other labels are used to make them sound special.

I think in the case of yourself and Benji, you are bringing your importance of ownership into the equation. They are indeed normal phase corn snakes, HOWEVER I'm sure most will understand they are super special to you.

Okeetees, miamis, abbotts IMO are normal corns that have bee selectively line bred to improve the quality of the animals appearance.

It has nothing to do with ownership as much as appreciating the beauty of a classic corn, a wild type corn, or "normal" corn, if all the correct phrasing is brought into play. I also own a ghost, which is not as vivid as some other morphs out there, but a beauty in its own right. So Benji, enjoy your classic corn just like I will enjoy mine. :D.

They're only saying that 'normals' are gorgeous snakes that don't deserve the name normal, which I totally agree with and mentioned in a similar post recently... It's no biggy it's just people being nice about their snakes chill out. As for 'carolina' being used to 'tart up' the name for normals in england that's the wrong way round, 'normal' is used in reference to carolinas. Even then it varies on whom you speak with, so I haven't a clue how you've come up with that one.

Anyway, metal_benji i'm glad you've jumped on board the corn express :santa: No stopping you now though, you've been warned. lol.
