I guess Pinkies weren't enough for this guy, so he devoured his Brother!!!!! This is my first ever experience with Cannibalism in Cornsnakes. I'm sure it isn't the first time it has happened anywhere but certainly a premier experience for me. :puke01:

you would hope so but as you have seen, people just wont care or won't brleive it will happen to them.

Wow, do you think this little one will be ok then?
I mean I assume he needs to be left alone for awhile now to digest, I can't imagine how bad that would be if he had to regurgitate that all back up.

o_O...wow

Omg

OMG :eek1: Looks like hes gonna explode! honestly can say i'm never gonna keep any snakes together in the same viv. thats a horrible thought that one could eat the other.

:eek1: :puke01:

Wow. It looks so weird in his stomach - I hope he doesn't regurge, i'm sure that was a big meal!
Thanks for sharing pics - I'm sorry for the loss of the brother!

I've seen pics before but this poor baby looks so full and almost with an expression of "what did I do" :puke01: I hope it will be OK. susan

Ooh, that's bad. Sorry for the loss, I hope the other pulls through it alright. May I suggest that these pictures are linked to from the FAQ section on co-habitation?

I have a question when a king eats another snake do they look like this? This poor baby looks miserable.

regurge

actually I think it would better if it did regurge. The sooner the better.
It's not likely it could digest that large of meal before it would start to decompose in the snake's stomach.

Sorry to hear about this. Just out of curiosity, what were the circumstances leading up to this, if I may ask? Were you feeding together or put them back together right after feeding?

Woah!.. i've never even heard of that happening before!

Hehe, it looks quite funny though, a small innocent face, then you look further down its body only to find it's eaten its brother! haha

I was wondering - now that this little guy has a taste for other snakes, do you think he will be a picky eater? Maybe he was meant to be born a king!!!

One can only hope but ... you know how that goes.

Ok, I think my new corn has cannibalism. I've never come across this, and I'm not sure I should feed her. What is cannibalism and what causes it? o_O Advice, help would be gladly be appreciated. ><

This is very rae but just goes to show it does happen.
I have not had it happen in my collection but I normally have one snake to a box.
A friend who raises hatchlings in groups has had this happen several times.
Glad you put up the photos , sorry for the loss of the other hatchling.
Stephen.

Um.. Cannibalism is when you eat your own kind. What do you think Dr. Hannibal Lecter was in Silence of the Lambs?

I'm curious, too. Maybe it could have happened when they were still all together after hatching? Who knows. :shrugs:
