Hi there, I have two questions. We got two new corn snakes. Each from a different breeder. One person recommended us using Zilla Jungle Mix substrate and the other recommended Aspen. What do my long time corn snake people suggest? Please let me know why you like which one you do. Also what about UVB? Yes or no? If yes is it 12 on and 12 off? Thank you so much.
Hmm, I thought I had announcements set up to be viewed by everyone. Ah, I checked and it expired. I reset the expiration date, so it should be visible now. Basically the important part of it is the following:

Hope that helps.
Thanks for the response Rich. I'm sorry to pester you about this but when I click the link you provided it takes me to a page that I "Don't have Access" to. I have noticed some differences between the image upload requirements for Fauna versus Cornsnakes.com. Is there a file size parameter that is preventing the thumbnail from appearing beside my ad perhaps? Many thanks, Neil
Hi Rich, How do I get an image to appear beside my ads in the "Corns For Sale Section"? It seems like sometime this happens automatically, but sometimes the ad displays a box with and arrow instead. Any assistance most appreciated. Cheers, Neil
Old Corn Snake Tail Issues.

My pet Corn snake for the last 20th years has an issue with her scales at the end of his tail.

First of all she hasn’t been pooping much and she hasn’t been eating. It’s been a few weeks. I’ve tried soaking her in warm water but whenever I put a mouse in her tank she ignores it.

Then last time I held her I noticed at the end of the tail the scales were coming off. There was dangling dead scales on the top and missing clumps at the bottom.

Is this just age and there’s nothing I can do about it?

Snake has died. Post-mortem exam?
Hello. I am a 2nd yr corn snake breeder and I am experiencing several of my snakes go on what I thought was a good strike. Then I began to notice a couple have become very lethargic and began to noticeably lose weight. I then gathered two of them and took them to a reptile vet to have them looked at. Vet saw no apparent issues. She the took a fecal sample to check for internal parasites. She finally called a week later and told me the fecal sample was too small and the test was inconclusive. Which brings me to this point. While doing my daily check I opened a yearling’s enclosure and to my horror he was dead. My question is: Should I take the dead snake to the vet tomorrow for a post-mortem exam? And if so, how do I prepare the body till tomorrow’s vet visit? I need to find out what is happening before any others fall to this illness. Temp was 80 degrees, humidity 55%, aspen bedding, always clean water checked every day. Diet: 1 f/t fuzzy weekly.
Hello, your posts come up a lot in my searches. I am in Indiana, no cool localities near me. I am curious about what Corn Snake Localities you are working with. And if you know of anyone working with Alabamas in particular. Thank You for Your time.
