I used the term "semi-motley" because his motley pattern covers only around the first 1/4 of his body. I don't know... isn't it supposed to cover his entire body?

It'll probably take a week to post more pics because i want to give him to settle in his new home. His belly has some brownish patterns on it.

most likely not a motley if there's pattern on the belly, but gorgeous butter nonetheless!

Yeah, i think the container was labeled Butter Anery Motley, which i don't know if that's even a valid combo. I'm not looking to breed snakes anyway. I just thought he was cute :) He was $30.

absolutely not anery, either, lol.

$30? that's a steal!

Oh cool... how much do butters normally go for? I haven't been paying much attention because i originally wanted a BP morph and i knew that corns are much cheaper than BPs.

i couldn't tell ya, i know the prices up here in Canada are a LOT more, i would expect to pay at least $70 for a butter here in town, though i know they would be much cheaper at expos.

Definitely not a motley. You can see belly checkers in one of the photos. Most corns have a few connected saddles on the neck. As previously stated, it's also definitely not an anery. Who was the breeder?

I actually didn't get a card or anything, so i'm not 100% sure and i don't want to name the wrong people. I got the snake at the Rockland, MA reptile expo on Sunday. They had around 4 other butters from the same clutch, around 12 other corns, and a few other snakes. I probably should have paid more attention, but i'm a newbie to snakes.

Is it possible the label red Butter HET Anery, Motley? That would mean it had hidden Motley and Anery genes. :shrugs: Just a thought. Very beautiful butter though, they're one of my favorites!

I threw away the container already, but that's definitely possible. I remember there was a lot of writing on it. I was just so focused on the snake itself because i thought it was pretty, that i forgot to pay attention and ask questions about its official morph details.

I think I know who you got the snakes from but I can't remember their names. They were at the Manchester show and had butters and caramel snows on their table. They paired two butters and expected to only get butters but got snows too. So your snake is most likely poss het anery. I don't remember seeing motley in there but my memory isn't so hot!

You have a beautiful butter. A snake is considered a motley depending on the dorsal pattern but also when it does not have any belly checkers. So your snake has a pretty typical pattern with the circles being more uniform towards the head and getting more open as you go down the body.

Yes, i'm almost sure now that the label on the container said HET anery or HET anery motley. I picked my butter because he had the brightest yellow and i remember asking the guy if the butter would retain the same shade when he grows into an adult. The guy said that both of his parents had a similar yellow, so most likely he will retain it. So i think that we're thinking of the same vendor. Thanks for helping me clear that up in my head!

I think i remember your table there. You had anerys, ghosts, and some crazy colorful corns right? I'm sure there were others as well, but i vividly remember those neon colored corns. I'll try to buy from you the next time :)

I was along the back wall selling ghosts, snows, amels, motleys and a lot of normals some with great hets! :)
