Deer Antlers?

Hi I was just wondering a while ago I got a small deer antler from a friend. I've had it for over 2 years and now that I'm getting a corn snake I was wondering if I could put it in the viv with him? Also if I did how would I clean it?
I think it would look really cool but I don't know if its safe. Please help!

I have antlers in each of my vivs. My corn seems to love climbing up the tines. All i did to clean mine was boil it but i do that will all the shed antlers i find because it helps with the color. I asked the same question a little while back and people told me as long as no chemicals have been used on the antlers, they should be safe to use. Heres a pic of my viv:

Thankyou! Do I just boil it in water or should I use vinager or anything? And how long do I boil it for?
 
You can use white vinegar with the water if you like. It helps whiten and i use that or peroxide for mounting antlers but i just used water on the antlers in my vivs. I try to keep mine at a rolling boil for around 20-30 minutes. Hope this helps. :)

That helps a lot! But I have oonne more queastion :p one of the parts on the antler is broken so I glued it back on I'm assuming boiling it will make it fall back off but can I use something to glue it back on once its done boiling or do I have to leave the piece off?
 
i actually leave broken pieces off. if you notice in the pic of my viv, the brow tine broke off of that antler. If it broke off and left a sharp edge or point i would just sand it down so that it is smooth and not able to hurt your snake. if you do glue it, just make sure that the snake cant break it off and leave a sharp edge. plus make sure the glue is safe for the snake.
 
I have two antlers in my 55 gallon tank for my snake. I bleached and rinsed them, since I couldn't fit them in anything to boil on my stove :)
 
100% silicone is safe. It smells like vinegar and is the same stuff that's labeled as "aquarium sealant". If you go to Wal-Fart or Home Depot/Lowes, you'll get the same stuff for much cheaper. Just glue before you boil and let it cure a few days, or after you boil and let it cure for a few days.

I use 100% silicone for everything I need to glue for animals.
