Finally! Boots on the Ground!

After two years of breeding to no avail, Mandarin has finally laid her first clutch. As we go to press she has laid 13 but I don't believe is finished. I had to take these out. Lisa called me at work at 8 A.M. this morning. She had laid 9 by 1.

Huge congrats! Was she bred to a different male this year? Or do you think it's just taken her body 3 years to prepare it's self to lay a fertile clutch?

Craig, you have got to be an old soldier my friend! I havent heard that term in a while!

Congrats on the clutch! They look wonderful.
"Finally! Boots on the Ground!"
Is that like saying "The Eagle has landed"? Or what?
Ron: It must be a very "manly" term, yes? LOL
I can't wait to see the hatchlings.

Actually, it is a military term for how many troops you have on the ground. I had to submit a "boots on the ground" report every morning to my First Sergeant when I was deployed as a Platoon Sargent. So yes it is a very "manly" term!!!! :)
