WOW, what the **** is this???

The original breeding was hypo Okeetee x hypo bloodred. It made my 1.1. hypo het. bloodred.
Now the f2 is hatching..
What do you guys think? Is it anery??
Sorry for the crappy pics..

I have no idea what morph it is, but it's very pretty!
I love the fade on the head. Seems a little too pink to be an anery though...

Here it is, fully out now..

It does look to be a ghost blood - you'd have to check the belly to be sure though. Congrats - would be a wonderful surprise in any clutch! =)

And is that part of the umbilical cord still attached in a few of those pictures? (off to the left side)

Arjan
I suspect that both your Okeetee and Bloodred were het Anery also. That sure looks like a Ghost to me.
I would also expect the resy of the clutch to contain Anerys,Hypos and maybe another Ghost.
Good luck and keep us updated.

first congrats to that beauty

i would guess its a hypo pewter. i always see that blue above the eyes on thees. never on ghost bloods:shrugs:

Not sure if both the original parents would have been het anery, you would have expected some anerys to pop up in the F1. My guess is that one of them was het, and she got lucky with two 50% het F1 proving out.

Either way, a very cool surprise!

If yall notice, the parents are hypos, so all babies will be hypos, that is know. What was not known was that one of the P generation was het for aner, most likely the hypo blood, but could have been either. Lucky you, a hypo aner blood, with out even trying. From the clutch you should have hypos, ghosts, hypo bloods, and hypo aner bloods. You should not get any aners.

Well, I'm a know-nothing with very little experience too, but my first thoughts at those eyes were that it had to be some sort of charcoal involved. I have had and closely examined the differences in the eyes to seperate anerys and charcoals many times now and the rule about dark eyes certainly seemed evident...

Rob and others who have more experience with ghost bloods, do they eyes seem dark before the first shed or are they always light iris from the beginning? I have only had my hands on four ghost bloods from Rich Hume and all had much lighter eyes than this fellow?

Perhaps the op. could post more studies of the eyes on this one? Maybe the pictures are just decieving...

Very cool though, and keep us all updated please!

Rebecca

Thanks everybody!
It definatley is a diffused or bloodred if you'd prefer that.
I don't think it's a pewter, it's "not grey enough" or it has to much "shine" in its saddles so to speak..
Dont quite know how to discribe..
To be honest i think the "hypo Okeetee" that was used to create the parents might have been a Hypo with somewhat more black than usual and was therefore sold as a hypo okeetee..
It wasn't mine btw.. nor was the hypo bloodred.
But my experience tells me (I'm in Europe) that wherever there is hypo involved there is probably anery in the line somewhere too and vice versa..
This proves that yet again..

O.K. NOW i need help....

Today two more ghosts hatched and a third is on it's way.
One of the ghosts looks just like the ghost blood, the other looks phantom to me..
And what about the blue "eyelids"?

There are three options:

- They're all anery's, but very bright ones
- KAJUN is right and they're charcoals
- Joe Pierce was right when he said the hypo parents are just to red to be normal hypo's, that means these are ice and ice bloodred..

I've lost it, i'm seeing things now i guess...
I've added a few pics of the ghosts and ghostbloodred.
