Egg Tooth (?)

I haven't seen enough pics of corns' egg teeth to know if that's what I'm seeing here. I'm guessing that it is. If it is, then these are pretty decent shots of an egg tooth...

I have no idea, but I do think that it's cute...looks like a little bucktooth, or makes the snake look a little like a rabbit. :)

I wish that I knew, but I don't...so I just came to admire & out of curiosity.

That's it! If you collect it when it falls off/ put it under your pillow for the tooth fairy. All those silver dollars can buy a lot of Red Bulls! LOL
Stunning little guys and nice photography as usual.
Terri

It is my understanding that the "egg tooth" is not actually a tooth at all, but a type of hardened skin projection that quickly falls off after it has served it's purpose. nice pics Dean!

Thanks. :) It is a goofy-looking thing.

Wow lots of egg tooth pictures, thats the first time ive ever seen an egg tooth up close. Very interesting nor did I know it was just a hardened skin protrusion.

I saw that exact same thing on one of my hatchlings and thought I was seeing things, my eyesight is not as good as it used to be. I wasn't able to catch it clear enough on my camera, to be able to tell for sure, but at least I now know I wasn't seeing things :D

Great pics Deano, thanks for sharing!

That's pretty outstanding. I didn't even SEE any egg teeth on my hatchlings last year, and I looked! Maybe this year I need to take photos of them and blow them up and I'll be able to see them!

I didn't notice it until I was looking at the photos for the fifth or sixth time. I wish I'd noticed it "live" so I could have taken a clearer close-up...

Hey Dean
That has to be one of the best pics of an egg tooth i've ever seen.Neat Shot!
Good luck with all your hatchlings.
Later Rob

:-offtopic I was looking at your new blizzards and you wrote about this thread. I was interested, so I went to your page to go to threads by you. While I was on your page, I noticed we have the same birthday! Ha-ha. Weird, huh?:)

That's cool. :) It seems a lot of people have early August birthdays. My brother's birthday is the 7th, I used to date a girl whose b-day was the 6th, and I know a lot of people with b-days between the 4th and 7th.

:-offtopicWell if you think about it that's because everyone's parents are cooped-up in the house 9 months earlier during the winter...with ahhh nothing to do:poke: PS) I have an August birthday too, the 23rd. the same day as Rick Springfield...all the girls in school constantly reminded me of this...only "older-wiser" members may recognize his name...:-offtopic

I know what you mean. My brothers is a day before mine(years earlier of course), I have a cousin with the exact same birthday as us, my boyfriends mother's birthday is the 7th and his borhter is the 8th. I think thats all....maybe, lol.
