• Hello!

Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.

Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....

Please be certain that the location field is correctly filled out when you register. All registrations that appear to be bogus will be rejected. Which means that if your location field does NOT match the actual location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected.

Sorry about the strictness of this requirement, but it is necessary to block spammers and scammers at the door as much as possible.

Is this MySpace or CornSnakes

WOW! You have LOTS more friends than I do, sniff, sniff! And you just got here! I guess you just seem friendly and lovable, haha!
So this is what they do over at MySpace, huh?? Cute and friendly, but I guess not extremely useful. But what the heck - people could be doing a lot LESS constructive things in their spare time, lol!

You're friendly and lovable too ;) :)

I just made a social group. Only special people get invites. If you get one it means I love you more than everyone else!

Can somebody explain just what a social group is, and what it means (or what you do if you are in one)?

Yup...and now we have sucked you in with our powers. Soon enough you will be posting pictures of yourself taken at odd angles with posed looks of intraspective-ness, and artsy colors. MySpace rocks...sort of...:toiletgra

Don't forget the obligatory mirror shots!

Social groups are another way of networking on this forum. A group is formed by someone who believes that there is a common interest on a certain topic (say "Field Herping" or "Chondros"). They can then invite people to join said group, and each member can see who else is interested in the same thing.

My overture and kind responses

This sounds silly, but I basically just sent a friend request to all the people who kindly welcomed me to the site and have been warm and made me laugh (even to the degree of biting sarcasm) since I've been here. So each friend represents a cool person who reaches out to welcome newbies. Not necessarily just people who searched me out to become a friend. You would and will be there too, hopefully, Kathy, I just couldn't find a post of yours to click the right button.

Interesting...
I add people that directly interact with me (answer to my questions, help me out in heated threads, etc.). I also add people from So Cal, since we are always trying to have get togethers.

I think the REAL reason that Kathy has few people on her "friends" list is that many of us are intimidated by her! She IS warm. sweet, wonderful, helpful and one of this site's most beloved members.....but she is also a LEGEND. Eric, as "old school" as you are, this lady is even older school! She is a true pioneer as far as keeping and breeding cornsnakes.

I have been a fan of hers for over 15 years, and she was rockin' and rollin' longggggggggggggggggggg before then!

I couldn't have said that any better, that's exactly how I percieve Kathy and exactly why it took a little courage to send a request to her ;)

I read up until page 20...

My only input:

Friends (the TV show) Blows :p

"You can always be a writer on Friends."

ME???!!!!

Intimidating? Me? My local friends and family would find that really funny, lol!!

..."as "old school" as you are, this lady is even older school..."

WOW! I sound REALLY OLD!!!!! Hahahaha!

Exactly why it took me a while to send her one. (How horrible would it be to send Kathy a friends request and be rejected? I would cry)

Oh Kathy...I didn't mean intimidating as in...intimidating...but....
don't you have any idea who you ARE to most of us?

As far as "old school" goes...you've just done it all before anyone ever thought of it, and you do it better than most of us ever will!

That sure sounded dumb...
open mouth, insert foot :)

That bring back some memories of my very newbie 2 first weeks here... I started a thread trying to understand the difference between Okeetee Love line and Okeetee Abbott Line.

When the woman herself posted a reply, I was in disbelieve! :D

Yeah Kathy, you ARE a lot to most of us. :bounce:

I feel the same about Kathy.

Any time Kathy posts on this forum, I think to myself "What a privilege to have THE KATHY LOVE posting here!"

See Kathy, you're so humble and soft spoken that you don't even realize that to most of us...you are THE GODDESS when it comes to cornsnakes.

Anyone getting into corns for the first time, who is the first person they learn about? Kathy Love.

When someone first decides to get serious about keeping and possibly breeding corns, whose book is the first one purchased? Kathy Love.

And if anybody, anywhere, ever has a question about corns, corn care, or breeding of corns...whose the first person they think to ask? Kathy Love.

You may not know it, Kathy, but you are truly one of "The Greats" that you hear about so often, but can never be sure whom is being referanced. Trust me...when someone mentions "On of the Greats" on this forum...you are being referanced...There are others...but you top the list.

And then I got to the Love fest...The Kathy Love fest!

It's all true!

I'm not just saying that because she is from Wisconsin.
