A male Guinea Pig and a paralyzed bunny. The bunny is from work and it was going to be used for meat if I didn't take it. I'm a sucker so I took it in. I got a cage and everything. Argh. *sucka* ;) That would be me...

The guinea pig was free on craigslist with all his supplies. I had to buy the cage. Currently bunny and guinea pig are sharing the cage. I have looked online and it said that it's okay to do that and than other sites said no. I dunno. They look fine together for now.

The guinea pig looks like my cat Athena. LOL.
CHeck it out:
What the hell is that MOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM???? *smack* Mr Guinea Pig put Athena in her place really fast though. He's a tough cookie!

The bunny is a sweetie. I do not know if he/she is staying or not. My co-worker said she would take him/her when she finds the room. I'm sure she/he will be fine here for a while. Haven't bothered to sex it yet. It's still young.

It's back legs are completely paralyzed but it hobbles around just fine. I need to figure out how to make it a cart or something so it doesn't have to drag it's feet around. I dunno how it happened but it didn't come to the pet store like that.

No names for either yet..

This poor bunny.. I don't know what to do with her/him.It drags it's legs and has some sores on its legs. I had to clean it up do to poop issues. Urgh. Poor bunners!

Sorry to hear the bunny is in such bad shape..I'm glad he can at least get around but it must be hard on the little guy/girl...the guinea pig is adorable! :0) congrats on both additions :0)

Yeah, that's pretty rough. Do you know what happened to her/him?

I don't have a clue. I think it may have been dropped. The rabbits can be pretty skiddish and often people don't know how to handle them. They can jump out of your arms and be injured pretty fast. I'm just not sure what to do.. I'll check around and see if I can speak to a vet about it..

It has sores on it's legs from dragging them around. It's really sad. Should I have it euthanized? My co-worker and I wanted to save it.. If only I could build a little cart for it.. Dunno how to do that.

have you owned a rabbit before? They can kick like a master. That's usually the biggest problem people have with the co-habbing with guinea pigs, but since yours is "special needs" I doubt their will be much of a problem. The other problem is the need different diets, but that's easy enough to control. I had a rabbit at one point but never a pig.

Now, I know you already have a cage but I love throwing this link out:

They are good for rabbits too as long as they are enclosed (er, might not be necessary with your guy). BEST CAGES EVER, since they are so customizable. Now that I don't have a bun anymore, I use the cube pieces for climbing decorations for my snakes. They love em'.

Don't even bother sexing your bun, just get it fixed by the vet as soon as possible. You want him/her to stay/become litter trained, non-smelly, and non-territorial. Trust me, I use to volunteer in the bunny room at the SPCA (30+ rabbits) and it was never hard to guess which ones came in un-fixed.

I have owned a rabbit but it was a really long time ago. I am still learning. The co-habbing together is just a temporary thing. They look like they're fighting for space so I might just take the rabbit out and place it in the other cage(though it's a bit small) and the cage I just bought from the pet store is too small and useless anyways. We didn't really have any real Guinea Pig cages. I can understand they are "glorified litter boxes". It's more for a critter that likes to climb like ferrets.(It has a second story) It was the only cage they had that would work for the time being. I plan on ordering that C&C cages for my guy soon.

The cage at the store was cheap so I bought it. I can sell it later and upgrade. He's not going to be going up to the second level anyways.

Ahem. His name is now... HAVOK.. lol.
And yes, it's another Xmen name.
Havok Alexander Summers X-Men (vol. 1) #58 (1969). Brother of Cyclops and Vulcan. Polaris's on-and-off boyfriend. Former leader of X-Factor. Leader of the Starjammers.

Currently seen in War of Kings

Powers: Plasma blasts, absorption of 'cosmic' energy.
Ahem. ;)

Oh, my library is MADE of comics
http://www.librarything.com/catalog/v_various

I use to get x-factor, I have 1 to 32 but it just got kind of...lame. I only bought one issue of War of Kings (Gawd I love Black Bolt) but usually try to avoid big cross over plot lines. Plus, I'm more of a DC girl (Blue Beetle! Secret Six! Harley Quin!)

It rocks you're improving their living conditions. I hope everything works out for the little guy.
Keep us updated.

I'm not made of money or anything but the best I can do is forgo the coffees and save up. The guinea pig is really cute and sweet. Just poops a lot(typical piggy)He fits in just perfect with the kitties. Athena looks like him as he is a Calico. It was an accident though. I didn't know what he looked like before I went and got him. I take him out often for playtime and supervise with the kitties. I attempted to clip his nails and cut too much. Agh. He was squirreling around a lot and so I clipped in the wrong place. It's my first Guinea Pig, but I've been wanting to get one for a while.

The bunny is out with him and the cats and it's fine. Just hobbles around the room. I am sure I can talk to a vet to see about it's care as a special needs bunny. I have a feeling it's going to be a very time consuming effort in terms of care. He/she will need to be cleaned quite often so it doesn't smell. There are a lot of considerations here with the bunny..

I cleaned out the cage today(completely took the cage apart). It was quite a chore. LOL. Nothing I'm not used to.

I got treats, water bottle, and some other stuff.

I need a unisex name for the bunny..

Kelly, Sam, Chris/Kris, Kelly (I always thought of as a feminine name until I met one of my early piercers...you meet one male w/ a female name and you find out there are all sorts of men named Kelly)...oh Shannon is a good one. Hope I gave you some ideas.

I'm really enjoying the Guinea Pig. He's pretty well tempered and it's working out with the kitties. They aren't attacking him when he's out so that's a good sign. I had a feeling that the cats wouldn't care. Of course his cage is not left open though. They are STILL cats. His name is Havok. He's just running around my room looking for things to play with. I have to pick up a few more toys for him.

The bunny is just hobbling around the room as well and being a good little boy/girl. It also has a nice temperament as well. It's a shame that it wouldn't have found a home because it's a special needs case. It's gonna be tough but I think I can deal with it. It honestly has no trouble getting around and it's very sweet.

Hopefully I can order that C&C cage soon! :)
