Hi there I noticed that your quite knowledgable of Corn Snakes and was wondering if you have the time to answer a few questions for me;
Just this past Saturday I had introduced my 3 year old Ghost corn (Female) to her breeding mate a 4 year year old Albino Okeetee (Male). I wasn't expecting them to instantly lock or anything but it is now Tuesday and still I haven't witnessed anything. I did notice a small yellow spot smaller then a dime with a little black dot in it that didn't look like the appropriate size of defecate or urate ( I was told this could be semen).
A friend of mine has already started breeding and her corns have locked with in the first day so I have been using her as my source of information but since its only my first year breeding and even though I have racked my brain trying to find reliable sources I have now decided to try a new source.
All in all, I was also told not to leave them together for more then three days as they will stress but as I have been keeping a close eye on them I have noticed rather then mating they seem more comfortable to just wind themselves up together and relax, I know for sure they are male and female, and they have been actively exploring (Like they would when in separate enclosures). I have reduced the amount of destractions in their enclosure and my female has already had her shed approximately 2 weeks ago.
Could this be caused by something I am doing wrong or could it just be that they are not ready? I am more then open to any suggestions you may have, I hope to hear from you
