Corn's + Garters

I have the Back, the bottom and the divider together, tomorrow I'll be getting the front, top and sides cut and prepped and will be putting the rest together.

it's a chemical adhesive that I got from a company that works with acrylic. pretty simple to use, use tape or something to keep pieces together and run the needle of the adhesive bottle along the edge of the connection, it runs between the bond and drys in like 15-20 seconds, and build it piece by piece. pretty easy to use.

I am familiar. I use the same type of thing for plexiglass. It's actually a solvent and it "melts" the plastic. I've read MEK also works this way on plexi. Amazing stuff!

Ok I don't know what its called just know that they use it and they filled up a small bottle for me.

here's the front after i cut out the holes for the doors
IMAG0014.jpg

and then the top with the holes cut out for the screen to go later on
IMAG0015.jpg

here's the front with the doors and the pieces i cut to keep the doors from swinging all the way in, and also keeps a good tight seal, so nothing can git out
IMAG0016.jpg

the front isn't attached yet in this pic but she's the pieces I cut to go on it
IMAG0018.jpg

a closeup of those pieces
IMAG0022.jpg

here's the left side going on, with the holes where later a fan will be attached
IMAG0025.jpg

here's the right side attached (cat decided to join in with the picture taking
IMAG0017.jpg

And here's the doors attached (I messed one up by putting the hinges on the wrong side so that the door would fall off when opened
IMAG0028.jpg

IMAG0027.jpg

And that is all i have right now, I'm going to buy a few things for the screen top because it wouldn't go on the way i was hoping so now I have to go out and buy more things!!! uggghh... hope you like the pix

That's very nice, and something that you can be proud of! Looking forward to the progress.

BTW...sweet wood stove you've got in the background.

well... after much pain staking work, it's completed (minus waterbowls, but that's tomorrow)
here are some more pix
everything on but the screen top, which i couldn't attach because the small bolts i had... well were to short (second trip to the hardware store needed)
IMAG0029.jpg

now this is with the multch/vine/ hides/loops for vine and more (but no screen yet...)
IMAG0030.jpg

now here's the screen tops I had to make. Remind me to find a different way to make a screen top next time I found a new hate doing this...
IMAG0050.jpg

AND FINALLY!!!!! it's done here's a pic of both
IMAG0031.jpg

The right side of it where the male is
IMAG0034.jpg

and the left side where the female is
IMAG0033.jpg

I hope you all like the pix and maybe make an acrylic enclosure of your own, it really isn't all that hard, better then working with glass. So what it will eventually scratch up but that's only if you let it ;)

holy cow! That is very cool, I will definitely have to show my husband this, he'll love it! And probably want to start making one lol. Congrats to you!

Only thing I'd do is to put a latch on the bottom, also. A fully grown corn could easily shove that bottom door aside and get their head out, and once the head goes, the body will follow!

It doesn't bend out more then 1/4" which is the material thickness. I already checked that out lol. If I can't bend it out and open then they can't. And thankyou all for the complements

Rexracer, I have a large UTH in the middle of the tank so it covers both setups and heat lights for both sides as well.

Looks great! I have plans for something similar to build in the near future. I'm tired of see my reptile room full of tubes. At this time i have to many snake for them to be in a Viv type set up. I'm going to reduce the collection down to about 10 or so. Then I'll start building my vivs. Anyway yours look really good!
