OOPS! I got eggs

Hi all,
Im no breeder but have accidently ended up with eggs,i didnt realise that i had male and female snakes together.
I know what is written here about keeping more accidently 1 snake in same terrarium, but i bought the snakes without reading too much first.
Iv'e had no probs at all with them,(advised by the breeder it was ok)they are always together and seem to be very attached to eachother :spinner:
Anyway my question is:::

when do i remove the eggs to incubate and how long is it before they hatch?
I have searched the forums for my answers but cannot find the answer to these 2 questions.
I put also a couple pics from my other pets,2x bearded dragons 3x turtles.
Many thanks
Thermo man

as for the cohabbing the reason they are always together is because one is dominant over the other. One is the "ruler" of the viv as for the eggs they usually hatch around 2 months after

o and for the best results buy another tank and seperate the snakes because one day you might come home and have 2 dead snakes :(

I will look at getting another viv in the near future then as i for sure dont want any deaths...
And for the second question
When do i remove the layed eggs?
I think she still has 2 or 3 to go..
thanks for your reply

Check this out: http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68057

In answer, remove them now once you have your container set up, and try to keep them in the same position as when they were layed (i.e., don't roll them around). Just keep the container in a warm location (in low 80's, that's fahrenheit) and don't disturb. No holes in the container--some people just check once a week to be sure moss isn't drying out and to circulate a litte air. Mostly you want to keep it at high humidity.

Good luck!

Are you sure you want to hatch them out with no more knowledge than you have? Do you have any idea how to find homes for them? If you don't find homes for them are you prepared to have a half a dozen or more tanks in your home to keep them? Are you in a position, financially and time wise to feed another dozen mouths?

Just questions that you might want to really think about since you weren't prepared to be a breeder at this time.

Hi
Thanks for your replies.
There is a lot of good info on the link Lynnea,i seem to have the eggs in a good enviroment according to the info supplied.
Following the post from Weebonilass,
Yes of course im sure i want them too hatch,it was at first a mistake but since i realised she was impregnated i have done some research on finding homes for the little fellas, that is not a problem.
Feeding them is also no probs,i have enough money for that plus i have a good mouse breeder where i can buy pinkies in bulk at a low price.
Thanks
Thermo

Only the photo of your snake on eggs is appropriate for the "Breeding" forum. Non-corn photos belong in the "General Chit-Chat" forum, and corn photos that have nothing to do with breeding belong in the "Photo Gallery" forum. I'll be a nice guy and not delete your photos THIS TIME. But keep these things in mind for future posting.

Those look like very good eggs. Good luck with them. It wouldn't hurt for you to pick up a good book on corn care and propagation.

Appologies on the photo thing,
It wasnt an intentional disregard of the rules.just thought it would be a bit interesting.
I know for future referance
:)

What kind of looking in to homes did you do? You really should have homes lined up now. You know you have X amount of eggs and if both snakes are in that first picture it looks like you have two normals. You'll have mostly normals. Just so you know normals don't sell for much, $25-$35 US is a normal price for them.

That's petshop price in my area... go to the local shows and you can bring one home for $8 - $10.. although from what I've heard, a lot of breeder can't even sell them for that. :(

In canada they sell for $100.00 for a normal is stores that is crazy that they are so cheap down there.

Are cornsnakes so rare up there? What do the more exotic morphs sell for?

They sell so cheap down here because they are a dime a dozen. The normals that have unique hets will bring more, but those aren't what you will find in most stores.

We rarely see and of the unique morphs here I live about 2 hours from Toronto. There may be a few around there but the only interesting thing i have ever seen was a buttter corn. That was in Barrie 45 mins from TO farther then I live. Never see blood of any type or anything of that sort. In the town i live in all ya really see is normals, amel, rarly anery, snows thats about it.

I'm in Canada, and yeah, they're not that common, so they're very expensive.
I paid $140 for my ghost, and $180 for my snow. My friend paid $160 for her normal as an adult.
There's a normal stripe at the Petsmart near me selling for $350 (with a sign saying it's had it's price reduced from $450), and an anery motley for $299. They've been there for months now though.

The reptile shop near my place is desperate to get their hands on my hatchlings because they don't have any to sell yet- they were offering to take them right out of the egg as non-feeders.

Actually, that photo with the turtle and the beardies is hilarious! LOL.

Thanks for sharing!

Even though it's not suppose to be here, I still enjoyed it :)
